February 3, 2026-- The House has successfully passed HR 7148, as amended by the Senate. Upon its enactment into law, this legislation is set to positively impact the coverage and reimbursement of telehealth services for Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
Notably, the temporary telehealth flexibilities, initially implemented during the pandemic, will be extended through December 31, 2027, allowing therapists to provide services via telehealth in all areas of the country.
We appreciate the significant advocacy efforts that secured the extension of this allowance. Additionally, we remain dedicated to advocating for legislation that establishes telehealth as a permanent allowance.
