After experiencing a bone fusion, Joan required additional care at a skilled nursing center. This was a stressful situation for Joan, as she was typically independent with activities of daily living. home management tasks. and was known as an active member within her community.

Upon arrival, Joan could not bear weight on her leg, leaving her unable to move freely as she wished. Additionally, her treatment required her to need assistance with all daily tasks, and she could not transfer from one surface to another without caregiver assistance. Joan’s biggest motivator throughout therapy was to be able to return home.

After a Virtual Everyday Safe Living® Assessment and therapy with Powerback, Joan:

  • Installed a ramp for her porch to better access her home and a grab bar in the restroom to help with transfers. Her family was incredibly receptive and felt these suggestions could ensure her safe return home.

Joan was incredibly appreciative of all the therapists who assisted in her care. She was ecstatic that she could safely return home with the support of her family. Way to go, Joan!
