Powerback shares clinician and business partner concerns related to the temporary authority that allows our organization and partners to provide — and be reimbursed for — telehealth services in physical, occupational, and speech-language pathology to Medicare beneficiaries. That authority is set to expire on September 30, 2025, unless Congress acts. On March 15, 2025, Congress included language to extend existing telehealth flexibilities through September 30, 2025. This extension preserved the removal of geographic/originating site restrictions and continued eligibility for PT, OT, and SLP to furnish telehealth under Medicare.
We strongly encourage clinicians, business partners, patients and families to engage in advocacy campaigns for extension of this authority under Medicare. This extension and/or permanent authority has widespread bipartisan support. Please reach out to let your members of Congress know how important it is to you and your practice/healthcare.
