Starting out, Leon could not stand for more than 30 seconds at a time without experiencing discomfort, and he required caregiver assistance for transfers. His main recovery goal? To return home independently after his amputation. With determination and the support of his close friend, who added home modifications to Leon's home, Leon graduated from therapy and returned home. He now safely stands and walks up stairs once again. Way to go, Leon!
Before her injury, Sallie was fiercely independent. She was determined to return home and resume the outdoor work and independent life she enjoyed. Through hard work in her Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy sessions, Sallie progressed from needing a walker to occasionally using a mobility aid for comfort as needed.
