Before her injury, Sallie was fiercely independent. She was determined to return home and resume the outdoor work and independent life she enjoyed. Through hard work in her Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy sessions, Sallie progressed from needing a walker to occasionally using a mobility aid for comfort as needed. Additionally, she also met her goal of being able to return home, where new patio furniture awaited her– a perfect outcome for someone with such a bright outlook!
Dearing came to her Powerback PT team during her battle with cancer. She experienced significant side effects from chemotherapy, resulting in severe generalized weakness throughout her muscles. With multiple falls and poor activity tolerance, she was identified as a great candidate to benefit from Physical Therapy sessions.
