Angela– Stepping Towards Independence

After experiencing a spinal fracture, illness, and a fall, which led to a secondary fracture, Angela required a wheelchair. This was incredibly distressing, as her favorite pastimes included dancing, shopping, and dining with friends.

Upon arrival, Angela was determined to persevere towards a positive outcome. With the support of her family, care facility team, and Powerback Rehabilitation PT and OT teams, Angela worked tirelessly to regain her independence.

After Occupational and Physical Therapy with Powerback:

• Angela’s PSFS (Patient Specific Functional Scale) score related to walking started at 1/10– after therapy with Powerback, her score increased to 10/10
• Her PSFS score related to bed mobility increased from a 2/10 to a 10/10
• Angela can now walk with a mobility aid– allowing her to resume her cherished activities
