Dearing's daughter noticed that Dearing was "sleeping all the time, not eating well, and living on Boost (nutritional supplements)." Upon arrival, Dearing could not walk to the mailbox, nor go up a flight of stairs without pulling herself up each step. She also experienced difficulty with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). Dearing's initial evaluations found that she experienced decreased balance, and that was short of breath and fatigue after walking 100 feet.
After 12 weeks of Physical Therapy intervention, Dearing has resumed participation in functional and leisure activities, and enjoys increased strength and balance. Dearing was a superstar when using the BlazePods throughout therapy, and constantly challenged her PT to create more challenging activities for herself to accomplish. Dearing's recovery is a testament to her unwavering determination and desire to challenge herself throughout PT. Way to go, Dearing!
