Steve's Strumming Success

After suffering a neurological event, Steve required total assistance to complete ADLs. Additionally, he suffered from a loss of strength and required a modified diet that needed to utilize a feeding tube to be administered.

Music has always been a large part of Steve’s life. In his area, Steve is well known as a talented musician and guitar player. Throughout therapy, his primary goal was inspiring: to be able to play his guitar once again. Steve’s incredible resilience, determination, and dedicated efforts helped to make this goal a reality.

After PT, OT, and Speech Therapy with Powerback, Steve:

• Can now play his beloved guitar again, which has had an immense impact on his overall well-being and success
• Can walk over 500 feet with a mobility aid and supervision
• Can now complete specific ADLs with set-up assistance, marking a significant step in his return to independence

Recently, Steve was honored with an induction into a local Music Hall of Fame in his county. With his wife, he was able to travel, and walked to receive the award with pride. Steve’s unwavering strength inspired his team and provided a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collaboration, dedication, and an unwillingness to quit. Looking ahead, Steve and his wife, Penny, hope to return home shortly.
